If you’re looking for an unforgettable family outing filled with wildlife encounters, hands-on experiences, and beautiful natural surroundings, Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida, is a must-visit! Our goes all the time this incredible zoo, that’s how much we love it!
1. A Unique Zoo Experience
Brevard Zoo isn’t your typical zoo—it’s designed to be interactive, immersive, and educational. The moment we arrived, we were impressed by the lush, tropical setting and the friendly atmosphere. Harper and Piper were beyond excited to see animals up close, and even Micah and I found ourselves just as captivated.
2. Wildlife Encounters Around Every Corner
The zoo is home to over 900 animals representing species from all over the world. Some of our favorite exhibits included:
- Expedition Africa: We marveled at giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and cheetahs. The highlight? Feeding the giraffes right from our hands—an unforgettable experience for the kids!
- Lands of Change: Australia and Beyond: We walked through a free-flight aviary, spotting colorful birds and kangaroos lounging nearby.
- Rainforest Revealed: This lush habitat features monkeys, jaguars, and exotic reptiles, all nestled within a beautifully designed environment.
3. Hands-On Activities for Kids
Brevard Zoo is all about interactive fun, making it perfect for families:
- Paddling Adventures: Yes, you can actually kayak through the zoo! It’s a unique way to view the animals from a different perspective.
- Petting Zone: Harper and Piper loved meeting goats, alpacas, and other friendly animals.
- Train Rides: The little train ride around the zoo was a hit, offering a fun break while still spotting wildlife.
4. Zip Lining Over the Zoo
For the more adventurous, Brevard Zoo offers the Treetop Trek Aerial Adventures, where you can zip line above the animal habitats. We definitely want to give it try when the girls are older!
5. Conservation & Education Focus
What really stood out to us was the zoo’s commitment to conservation and education. Throughout the park, there are engaging displays and opportunities to learn about animal habitats, endangered species, and how we can help protect our planet.
